The Difference between Liquid Silicone and Solid Silicone
In our life, it is more and more favored by people. Recently, many customers have asked me what is the difference between liquid silicone and solid silicone? Let me take you to learn about liquid silicone products.
Liquid silicone is in a liquid state and has fluidity. Solid silicone is solid and has no fluidity. Liquid silicone is generally used in baby products, daily-use silicone products and medical products, and it can directly contact food and the human body. Solid silicone is generally used in daily necessities, industrial miscellaneous parts, and auto parts.
1. Liquid silicone is injection molded liquid silicone rubber (LSR): the full name is injection molded liquid silicone rubber, and the vulcanization equipment is an injection molding machine. The injection molding machine has a very simple process flow, high product accuracy, high output (A/B glue is mixed at a certain temperature for a few seconds), and has many advantages such as labor saving, power saving, and material saving. It can produce all high temperature glue production. The products will be a mainstream for the development of silicone rubber materials in the coming years. Liquid silica gel is a highly transparent and safe food-grade material. No auxiliary materials such as vulcanizing agent are added during molding, and it is sealed and fed for molding.
2. Solid silicone molding is a solid piece of raw material. After being mixed by a mixer, the cutting machine cuts the product and the mold into the appropriate size and thickness, then puts it into the mold, and presses the molding machine at a certain temperature. The demolding process is similar to that of plastic products, and the mold needs to be cleaned. Solid silica gel is a transparent material. A vulcanizing agent needs to be added during molding to speed up the vulcanization molding time, and the mold is fed to form.
